Armando Leite is an Executive Advisor within KPMG’s Information Risk Management – Technology Advisory Services practice. As part of his role he also runs the Security Testing and Assessment group, focusing on providing technical assurance around the areas of vulnerability management, secure development and training.
Armando has been involved in the field of Information Security for 8 years. During this time he founded Avatar Ltd, which provided information security consultancy to government organizations and the commercial sector in Portugal. In 1999, he moved to the UK where he was part of the Security team for HSBC Global Markets in charge of operational security. Later in his career Armando was a senior consultant with McAfee providing security architecture advice and technical assurance. Prior to joining KPMG he was a Principal consultant with Guardent Inc – later acquired by VeriSign – where his duties included providing Technical Security consultancy and Assurance services.
His areas of focus include vulnerability research, penetration testing, incident handling and security in the software development cycle. Parallel to these areas Armando also has a strong interest on the link between the technical assurance and overall corporate governance. Armando studied Computer Systems Engineering at Minho University in Portugal and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
