Dr. Claudia Natanson is currently Chief Information Security Officer for Diageo. Her current role involves setting the strategy, policy and processes for information security across Diageos 180 global and divergent markets.
Before joining Diageo, Dr Natanson was Head of British Telecoms Secure Business Services. In this role, she founded the UKs first commercial globally accredited Computer Emergency Response Team. She then went on to form and accredit BTs commercial Computer Security Incident Response team. While at BT, Dr Natanson was responsible for the implementation and roll out of security for BTs over 200,000 connections. With her team, she was responsible for developing global security solutions for BTs major blue chip customers world-wide. In this capacity she has worked extensively at board levels with major organisations in implementing security, brand management, corporate governance and risk management. She has also holds expertise in areas such as firewall authorisations, business continuity and information warfare.
Dr Natanson is currently, a board member and Steering Committee member of the world Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST http://www.first.org). She is the Programme Chair for FIRSTs Corporate Executive Programme. She remains active in working with security teams in Europe through TF-CSIRTs TRANSITS course, where she has been both author and tutor for the organisational module. She is active in a number of European Commission initiatives for computer networks, and is regular speaker and journal contributor in the global security arena.
Dr Natanson holds a B.Sc. in Geology and Nuclear Chemistry, MSc. in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Computers and Education.
