Education and training are central to FIRST's mission, with the goal of helping support new CSIRTs, enhancing the capability of current teams, and raising awareness and understanding of all aspects of incident response. All FIRST training is developed and delivered by members of the FIRST community, made up of operational incident response practitioners from around the world.
FIRST Training is delivered across the world through FIRST events, in collaboration with our partners, and through the FIRST Community and Capacity Building Program. To join a training workshop at one of our FIRST events keep an eye on our events calendar.
FIRST has also launched an online learning platform.
Thank you to all the members of the FIRST Community, FIRST SIGs, and our Training Community for developing these trainings and sharing their insights and expertise with the global incident response community!
FIRST trainers are typically experts and practitioners in their field, sharing from the wealth of their real-world experience, something that cannot be substituted by just reading a book.
We are always looking for more volunteers to join our FIRST Training Community, to get involved please reach out using the training tab at support.first.org
FIRST in-person workshop materials provide foundational content that our trainers adapt for each delivery. FIRST training materials are available under the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

If you are interested in hosting a FIRST training workshop please reach out to us using the training tab at support.first.org
Please note that we need a request at least 90 days before the training to allow enough time to find a suitable trainer. The earlier we know the topic for the training, expected number of attendees and their assumed skill level, the better we can accommodate the request.
Training hosts are responsible to organize the on-the-ground logistics related to the event, including providing a suitable venue including AV, refreshment and meals for breaks, and supporting invitations and any needed visa applications.
To help keep the FIRST training program sustainable and provide for up-to-date materials and support for our trainers, FIRST does charge a modest fee for each training activity as outlined below.
