36th Annual FIRST Conference to take place June 9-14, 2024 in Fukuoka, Japan

Now that another successful conference is over, it is time to prepare for the next round. The 36th Annual FIRST conference will be held in Fukuoka, Japan on June 9-14, 2024. FIRST looks forward to the active participation by members in the program committee, speakers, and sponsors as well as attendees.

About Fukuoka

Fukuoka is located on Kyushu island, in the western part of Japan. The city is a 90-minute flight away from Tokyo, and Hakata - the city center - is easily accessible from the Fukuoka Airport, just two stops away on the subway. Historically, Fukuoka has been an important hub for trade, transport, and industry. It is also known for its delicious cuisine, such as ramen noodles. The conference will take place at Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk, right on the coast.

The Program Committee

The Program Committee for Fukuoka will be led by Taki Uchiyama. Taki is a member of Panasonic PSIRT and is responsible for product security activities overseas at Panasonic. His main roles include coordination of vulnerabilities, creating and conducting product security training for product developers, and providing support to product development teams related to product security as necessary. Aside from his role at Panasonic, Taki has been a CVE Board Member since 2016.

Over the next few weeks, we will be forming the 2024 conference program committee and start preparations for next year's conference. The conference program committee is a volunteer opportunity, open to non-members and managed through an open call submission process. Program committee members are selected for their expertise in key areas relating to program objectives, regional balance, and previous program & content committee experience.
