FIRST Announces Global Event Series to Unite Incident Response and Security Teams Worldwide

Flagship events in Raleigh, Berlin, and Copenhagen set to strengthen international cybersecurity collaboration amid surge in cross-border security incidents

March 5, 2025 – The Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), the premier organization of security teams worldwide, has announced the continuation of three landmark events designed to unite and empower the global incident response community. These regional flagship events create dedicated spaces for security practitioners to share expertise, build relationships, and strengthen collective cyber defense capabilities.

"In today's interconnected threat landscape, no organization can stand alone against emerging cyber threats," said Chris Gibson, Executive Director at FIRST. "These events represent our commitment to fostering the kind of deep collaboration and knowledge sharing that's essential for global cyber resilience. With cyber incidents becoming increasingly complex, the need for coordinated response capabilities has never been more critical."

“FIRST's collaborative approach empowers cybersecurity professionals to solve complex challenges together, fostering a culture of shared knowledge and continuous learning. By uniting experts across the globe, we create a stronger, safer internet for all, where mentorship and teamwork drive meaningful progress in securing digital spaces,” said Khushali Dalal, Women of FIRST SIG co-Chair.

The 2025 event series includes:

CVE/FIRST VulnCon 2025
Raleigh, NC, US | April 7–10, 2025

The Vulnerability Management Ecosystem Conference returns to North Carolina, focusing on practical collaboration and actionable insights for vulnerability management professionals.

"VulnCon is evolving into an essential gathering for the vulnerability management community," said Peter Allor, Co-chair of VulnCon. "This year's focus on ecosystem-wide collaboration reflects the need for effective vulnerability coordination across the entire security landscape, bringing together our collective global expertise to place a renewed focus on risk management."

2025 FIRST Cyber Threat Intelligence Conference
Berlin, Germany | April 21-23, 2025

This specialized conference brings together threat intelligence experts for intensive knowledge sharing and hands-on training in proactive security approaches.

“Being part of FIRST’s events represents a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application,” said Freddy Murstad, from NFCERT and conference workshop speaker. "Threat actors are increasingly adapting their behavior, so joining hands-on training and peer-to-peer exchange of tactical intelligence and methods at the CTI Summit are invaluable for staying ahead of emerging threats."

37th Annual FIRST Conference
Copenhagen, Denmark | June 22-27, 2025

FIRST’s flagship annual conference, recognized as a leading global security event, heads to Copenhagen for 2025.

“FIRST events have offered me the opportunity to develop both personally and professionally in an ever growing threat landscape through building relationships with peers in the community, participating in SIGs to grow and mature as the security landscape evolves and seek out opportunities to support others in their journey within the security field,” Emer O’Neill, Women of FIRST SIG co-Chair.

Each event features specialized content tailored to regional needs while maintaining FIRST's high standards for technical depth and practical application. The organization expects these flagship events to draw thousands of security professionals representing teams from government, public and private sector, and academic institutions around the world.
