Dr. Thomas Schreck is a Professor for IT-Security at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. Prior he was a Principal Engineer for IT-Security at Siemens and the Head of Siemens CERT. He served between 2015 and 2021 on the Board of Directors of FIRST.org and was the Chairman from 2017 to 2019.
He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and a Diploma in Computer Science for the University of Applied Sciences Landshut.
James Chappell has led teams in InfoSec and Cybersecurity since 1997 working across commercial and government organisations, helping them to understand the threat and technical aspects of securing modern digital business. James spent 10 years of his career as a security architect as the head of profession at a UK consulting firm. He’s previously worked in roles across the telecommunication sector in the USA. Throughout James has been fascinated by the innovative ways of counteracting the growth of espionage, crime and fraud in computer networks and developing effective ways of managing the security big picture. In 2011, this journey led to the founding of Digital Shadows a specialist in threat intelligence and digital risk. James is the co-chair for FIRST’s Cyber Threat Intelligence SIG, where he is a regular speaker at conferences, and regularly quoted in the press.
Trey Darley has spent the last fifteen years of his career in various blue team roles, including stints at NATO, Splunk, and CCB/CERT.be. As Accenture’s Cyber Resilience Lead for Belgium and Luxembourg, his mission is to increase safety for Accenture’s clients. In his copious spare time, he is co-chair of the technical standards committee responsible for STIX/TAXII and serves on the FIRST Board of Directors.
Alexandre Dulaunoy encountered his first computer in the eighties, and he disassembled it to know how the thing works. While pursuing his logical path towards information security and free software, he worked as senior security network consultant at different places (e.g. Ubizen, now Cybertrust). He co-founded a startup called Conostix, which specialised in information security management. For the past 6 years, he was the manager of global information security at SES, a leading international satellite operator. He is now working at CIRCL in the research and operational fields. He is also a lecturer in information security at Paul-Verlaine University in Metz and the University of Luxembourg. He is also the lead developer of various open source tools including cve-search and member of the MISP core team.
Andreas Sfakianakis is a Cyber Threat Intelligence professional with over a decade of experience in cyber security. He focuses on applying threat intelligence and helping organizations manage threats mostly within the Energy, Technology, and Financial sectors as well as in European Union’s Agencies and Institutions. Andreas has been contributing to the CTI community since 2012 via public reports and presentations, his blog, newsletter, and instructing. Dr. Morton Swimmer is a manager in the Forward-Looking Threat Research (FTR) team at Trend Micro, Inc. where he peers into the future of computers and society to identify the risks and vulnerabilities of the future. His past in computer security stretches back over 30 years and he has been involved in most of the innovations in security, first at the University of Hamburg, Germany, then IBM Research and now Trend Micro. While originally active in malware analysis and computer forensics, recently his team has been focussing on massive threat data analysis and machine learning for spotting new types of attacks quantitatively and also on modeling future threats to society that will accompany its inevitable march towards tighter integration in smart cities, intelligent transportation, supply chains and manufacturing. Morton, a native of New York City, has a Computer Science PhD degree from the University of Hamburg, and currently resides in the Hamburg, Germany area.
