Traveling to Monaco

Airport

There is no airport located within the Principality of Monaco. It is recommended to arrive and depart through Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE) due to its proximity to Monaco.

Transportation options from the airport to Monaco are readily available. Please be sure to do your own research and choose a plan that best fits your travel preferences.

The following are suggestions to help you plan ahead.

Train from NCE to Monte Carlo, Monaco Train Station (total travel time ~30-40 minutes; ~ 10-15 EUR each way)

From the Nice Airport, take Tram 2 (accessible from Terminal 1 and 2) to the Jean Médecin station and then transfer to the Nice Train Station (Nice-Ville). Tram tickets can be purchased at vending machines located in the airport or purchased on board the tram. Once you have arrived at the Nice Train Station, head to the train for Monaco. You can either purchase your train ticket online via your preferred train app (such as Rail Europe), or you may purchase your ticket at the train station. Your destination is the Monaco-Monte-Carlo station. Once you have arrived at the station, you can catch a taxi, a bus, or walk to your hotel. Additional costs apply for taxi and bus.

Bus from NCE to Sporting Bus Stop (total travel time ~ 1-1.5 hours; ~ 20 EUR each way)

From the Nice Airport, head to terminal 2. You can purchase bus fare at the Service Centre next to exit A1 (credit cards only). You may also purchase a ticket on board the bus at an additional surcharge of 0.40 EUR. Take bus 80 Gare Routiere and hop off at the Sporting (Bay Hotel) stop and walk for 4-5 minutes to Le Méridien.

Taxi from NCE to Le Méridien Direct (total travel time ~ 40-60 minutes; ~95 EUR each way)

Taxi lines are available at both Terminals. Please follow the signs.
